Richmond is defined by its Georgian architecture and used to be a crossing point to Port Arthur and the East Coast. The Richmond Bridge is the oldest stone bridge in Australia. There are so many gorgeous little shops featuring Tasmania products and antiques and on Saturdays you can buy fresh produce at the local farmers market. The Richmond maze is a huge redevelopment featuring a hedge and timber maze.

Mt Field National Park
Only an hour drive from our accommodation, we highly recommend this as a day trip. Drive up the picturesque Derwent River and stop along the way at Westerway Raspberry Farm, or a coffee and lunch at The Possum Shed Café. Many beautiful short and longer walks await you at the national park. It is home to the tallest flowering plant in the world – Eucalyptus regnans.
Meadowbank Estate
Run by the Ellis family since 1976, Meadowbank is a farm and vineyard in the Derwent Valley of Tasmania. Meadowbank is regarded as a Tasmanian pioneer and iconic grower of wine.
